DOCTOR WHO IN DETAIL

The TARDIS materialises in a London alley during the 2007 New Year's day celebrations where the Doctor sets up another vindicator and the Doctor and Belinda meet a eight year old boy - Conrad. The Doctor hands Conrad a 50p piece he found. Conrad goes to tell him mum, and when he turns back all he can see is the TARDIS fading away.

Conrad spent much of time hunting for the blue box, and the Doctor, and then 17 years later he saw the TARDIS. Hearing a noise Conrad makes his way into an empty shopping centre. He hears something and feels a strange green goo on his neck. He glimpses something at the top of an escalator and hides as he hears the Doctor and Ruby who are search for a "Shreek". Ruby also has green goo on her neck, but the Doctor gives her an antidote to block the pheromones the Shreek use to track their prey.

Conrad follows them and manages to take a picture of Ruby and the TARDIS before the TARDIS de-materialises. He posts the picture on-line asking if anyone knows the woman in the photo. A year later Ruby turns up for an interview for Conrad's podcast. Conrad asks Ruby about the Doctor and what they were doing in the shop where he saw them.

After the podcast interview Conrad and Ruby go to a cafe for a drink where Ruby explains more about the Shreek. The Shreek has returned to hunt its prey - Conrad. Fortunately UNIT had caught it first. Ruby tells Conrad the first thing he would have noticed was flickering lights as the Shreek's background radiation messes with electricity, followed by glimpses of the Shreek, and finally offers Conrad the antidote.

Conrad wants to get to know Ruby more and offers to take her out to dinner. After further dates Ruby and Conrad go away for a weekend away to Colson village. Everything is going well but Ruby notices an electronic sign flickering. At a local pub Ruby and Conrad meet up with some of Conrad's friends. When the lights start flickering Ruby makes a quick call to UNIT - but Kate insists there is no unusual activity at their location - and that the Shreek is locked away at UNIT Tower.

Thinking she is maybe imagining things Ruby returns to the table where Conrad is sitting alone. When the lights go out Conrad goes to look for Sparky - an electrician. From outside the pub there is a scream, and a woman enters telling them to lock the door as there is something outside like the devil himself. Through a window Ruby spots what looks like two Shreek and when Conrad returns, alone, he tells Ruby he never took the antidote.

Ruby makes a discreet call to UNIT before going outside. Conrad follows her, despite being the potential target, as UNIT arrives. One of the soldiers spots what look like Shreek - but it's two of Conrad's mates - Sparky and Jack - pulling a prank - all arranged by Conrad himself, and Conrad reveals he and his friends are all part of Think Tank, exposing the lies perpetuated by UNIT, and that the events are being live-streamed.

Kate orders UNIT to arrest Conrad and his friends, although they are soon released as news of fascism in the UK spreads quickly in the media. Ruby is taken to UNIT Tower through the protesters. Due to the protests UNIT's security status is being downgraded and the Shreek containment cell is being prepared for transport. Conrad has a man inside UNIT - Jordan, who lets him in through and on the way up to the top floor Conrad gets hold of a gun.

Kate has the option of stopping the lift but instead allows Conrad into the control centre of UNIT. Conrad emerges from the list armed with a gun, and a camera live-streaming. Conrad tells Kate he wants a confession - on camera - about UNIT's lies. Conrad is adamant the staff in UNIT are just actors, and that any alien encounters are just special effects. Kate decides to show Conrad the truth by setting the Shreek free.

Conrad tries to escape in the lift but interference from the Shreek is affecting the electrics. As the Shreek slowly advances on Conrad Ruby steps up and stuns it. But even then Conrad still refuses to believe it's real - until the Shreek bites down on his arm.

Once out of hospital Conrad is transferred to a cell. He hears a strange noise and a few moments later he is inside the TARDIS where he meets the Doctor. The Doctor tries to confront Conrad and his disinformation. Realising he his fighting a losing battle the Doctor returns Conrad to his cell to live out the rest of his life. Until the Governor, Mrs Flood, appears with the keys to his cell.
